I enjoy the planning of phase of any shoot – thinking about location or what shots I’d like to get. In the case of this wedding, I played the role of the silent photographer, taking shots in the background without direction for the most part. Even the location for the outdoor shots changed at the last minute!
Still, when you have a bride this gorgeous, how can you complain?

I generally choose to schedule my shoots for late in the day, working with the great light that time affords. Sometimes, though, you have to be flexible and work with what you’ve got, so this shoot was shot in the late morning Florida sun.
Even so, we came away with some really fun photos of this adorable family. Three generations represented!

If you want a workout for the afternoon, chase four little ones. Just ask my assistant/husband, who helped with this weekend’s family shoot. Ultimately, even though kids are work, they are great fun, and make for fantastic candid shots.

When a Padgett contacted me about doing a quick shoot with her, her man, and the girls, I was excited for several reasons.
First off, I had not seen Padgett in over 10 years. Secondly, I always love shooting gorgeous couples. And third, I got to work with two of the cutest dogs you’ll ever meet, Samantha and Emma.

When my friend Dan started pinning Vespa photos on Pinterest, I joked that we should do a photo shoot involving his wife and Vespa, a la Roman Holiday.
To my surprise, he agreed.
I may never shoot a photograph without a Vespa again.
